ATI and Intel: Joint Program Will Increase Pressure on Taiwanese Manufacturers
As reported by Digitimes, Intel and ATI
Technologies are preparing a joint marketing program “Driving Change” focused on
to supply channels. As part of the agreement, ATI video cards will be supplied
together with Intel motherboards on i915 / 925.
The program will launch in North America and Europe on August 2, resulting in
such an initiative of manufacturers, distributors will receive a 20-30 dollar discount
to the video card depending on the model. $ 20 discount will be offered
on solutions based on ATI Radeon X600 with motherboard BOXD915PCYL, BOXD915PCY
Intel recently increased orders to contract motherboard manufacturers by
Taiwan, including Foxconn Electronics, Asustek Computer, Mitac International
and First International Computer (FIC). Total on a contract basis for Intel
in 2021 will be produced 19 million. boards, including 12 million. for OEM customers.
New program, sources say, will increase pressure on Taiwanese producers
fees, although in the short term it will not have a serious impact.
